July 8 — Updates

Friends of Friends

We started this project as a way to give back to the local music scene, which was greatly affected by the corona pandemic. When all gigs were banned, clubs were closed, festivals got canceled and records were rescheduled, it’s the bands who suffered most. Local bands who were gearing up for a new release and a batch of shows, were faced with uncertainty and loss of income. This major setback, came just months after the government announced cuts in funding. And even before that making ends meet wasn’t easy for bands in our small country that’s flooded with talent.

We decided to do something to help our local bands. If we can’t book their shows, why not release their music?

All expenses for this LP were paid for by MCLX. All profits will go directly to the participating artists. This project is a letter of intent to make clear that we are dedicated to doing more for our local artists. By offering more opportunities, fair pay, exposure, guidance, and sharing our knowledge we want to help them grow. Why? Because they are the backbone of our music scene.

Bands:
High Hi – Newmoon – Psycho 44 – Teen Creeps – The Guru Guru – The Geraldines – Blossom – Fornet – Crowd Of Chairs – Stoop Kid – Such Beautiful Flowers
